Written and produced ten plays, performed in Canada, Spain and Singapore. Highlights include "richardthesecond," a one-man multi-media show, nominated for 6 Dora Awards, and "The Mill," in association with Theatrefront, a four part horror story for the stage. "The Mill" was presented in cooperation with the Young Centre, winning 4 Dora awards.
In 2018, B!tch Island the Musical, written with Broadway and Stratford star Bruce Dow, premiered at the Hamilton Fringe, becoming the smash hit of the festival winning the Best of Fringe Award, Critics' Choice Award, Audience Choice Award, and the Best of Venue Award.
Matthew is a founding artist of Hamilton's Industry theatre company. Recent projects include The Corona Diaries, a conversation with artists from around the world - Canada, Australia, England, Japan, Poland, South Africa, and South Korea - about their experiences during Covid-19.
Have had a number of projects in development with notable production companies and networks in Canada and the U.S.
Wrote for "Lost & Found Music Studios" and "The Next Step" with Temple Street Productions, producers of Orphan Black and Killjoys.
His first film, "Dorothy's Secret," played festivals in Canada and the U.S., and was available online on CBC's Canadian Reflections.
